2017 Grevino Dolcetto
Varietal Qualities
Dolcetto translates to “little sweet one” in Italian, although the wines are perfectly dry by modern day wine making terms. In the vineyard Dolcetto is similar to Pinot Noir in the sense that it is rather sensitive to its soils and climate. In the cellar the grape’s dark purple skins require only a short maceration time to produce deeply colored wine with good tannin. Ultimately in our California soil the finished wines are medium bodied yet retain the candied cherry, licorice and almond flavor characteristics of their Italian heritage.
Wine Notes
A well rounded wine with aromas of blueberry, raspberry and baking spice. One the palate, the wine opens with ripe fruit flavors such as black cherries and red currant followed by a long, pleasing finish with soft tannins and dark fruits.
2017 Grevino Riesling
Varietal Qualities
The Riesling grape was originally planted in Germany, where the cool climate produces wines of bright, crisp acidity and floral aromas. In warmer areas, such as ours, Riesling shows balanced citrus flavors of lime zest and peach. While many Rieslings are sweet, ours is of a drier style.
Wine Notes
Fruity and ripe fruits of pineapple, meyer lemon and ginger on the nose as well as varietal scents of petrol. Ripe and red apple, pear and the beautiful mingling of acid and sugar support the expressive fruitiness quite wonderfully. Slightly off dry.
2019 Grevino Pinot Noir Rosé
Varietal Qualities
Pinot Noir is grown around the world and is considered one of the most difficult grapes to cultivate, requiring diligence and skill in the vineyard. When grown and vinified properly, it produces elegant, delicate wines that reflect the terroir of the vineyard.
Wine Notes
Made from the fresh juice of Pinot Noir grapes and fermented in 100% stainless steel to preserve its bright, clean character. A soft peach hue leads to aromas of fresh grape and subtle fruit. The palate is smooth and fruit-forward with refreshing acidity, making for an elegant, easy-drinking Pinot Rosé.
