ABOUT US

Ca’del Grevino wines embody the marriage of world-class winemaking with peerless Italian luxury, right in the heart of the Santa Maria Valley. This oasis of sophistication is the passion project of a singular couple: proprietor and founder Randeep Grewal and his wife, Nadia. Together, they yearned to develop a corner of California they could call their own; they found the winery that would become Ca’del Grevino in 2011.
With its picturesque rolling hills and ideal, year-round grape-growing weather, the Santa Maria Valley was an obvious choice for aesthetic reasons and because it was also an ideal site for world-class wine production.

The property’s position in the Santa Maria Valley and nutrient-poor sandy soils, combined with moderating breezes from the Pacific, provide the perfect terroir to make exceptional wines—especially those of Italian heritage, a mutual love of the Grewals.

Randeep, originally from India, grew up in Zambia and spent frequent long layovers in Rome as a child. He eventually came to the United States to study engineering and met his wife, Nadia—originally from Bergamo in northern Italy—during an international business trip. Their romance was fueled in part by their shared love of Italy, and together they hoped to develop wine that would reflect the intersectional beauty of Italy and California: a place where they could create a legacy for years to come.

The Grevino wines are deeply personal, focused on sustainability, authenticity, and an idea of everyday, accessible opulence.

The Grevino wines provide an entree into Randeep and Nadia’s vision of the good things in life. Full of obsessive detail, but approachable, these wines are meant to be enjoyed regularly with friends and family.

The wines are measured to the exacting standards that are applied across the board at Ca’ Del Grevino, but see shorter maturation cycles in our cellar.

Every wine is natural-yeast-fermented, with minimal additions, and vineyard work involves zero synthetic inputs. Organic farming is a huge focus on the property, with goals for certification in the coming years. Most of the Grevino wines are aged for at least two years at the property in a combination of new and used oak, as well as stainless steel, and of course in bottle. This standard that’s well past many wines at a similar price point, but an example of the Grewal’s persistent focus on quality.

Everyday luxury

With Grevino, you can be confident that you’re getting a wine measured to the exacting, world-class standards of the Ca’ del Grevino Winery, but positioned in spirit for everyday enjoyment.

Quality above all

All the decisions made for the Grevino wines ensure the highest quality possible; while these wines are intended to be drunk often and accessibility is a key part of Grevino, winemaking, and quality are always held to exceptional standards

Italian to the core

The Ca’ Del Grevino Winery and the Grevino wines recreate the timeless appeal of Italy and her wines channeled through the Santa Maria Valley terroir. Our wines and our property exude the energy, feel, and generosity of a visit to Italy. We’re not Italian-American, we’re Italians in America.

Winemaking

  • We handpick to prevent bruising of the fruit and to control selection of only the best grapes.
  • The grapes are de-stemmed and sorted by hand, in further commitment to making sure only the best fruit makes it into our wines.
  • During fermentation, punchdowns (instead of pump-overs) ensure higher extract more from the skins, creating more complex wines.
  • Our picking times are later, optimized for greater richness and flavor, as well as softer acidity.
