Merlot is a kind of grape which appeared at the end of 18th century. It’s planted in most areas in Bordeaux, and it’s the most widely planted grape in California. The fruits of the grape are big, fresh, and tender and juice output is high. Its color is ruby red; it can make tasty and smooth wine. Merlot is soft, thick on the palate, and acidity is low.
In French, “Merlot” means “little black bird”. Merlot is a noble red varietal. Our approach to Merlot is to highlight its varietal character while still producing an approachable wine. In the wine making process, we try to express flavors of red and black berries, including cherry, strawberry, black cherry, black currant, blueberry, mulberry, etc. The tannins of the Merlot are soft. A pleasant flavor, elegant wine body and soft taste, makes the wine popular with wine drinkers. The ruby and transparent color is an added bonus for drinkers.
